Northstar Enduro • Saturday & Sunday, August 29-30 • Northstar California Resort in Truckee
Northstar is upping the ante this year by expanding to a two day event, which means another multi-day race on the 2015 CES schedule. As one of the most prominent mountain bike parks, Northstar is the perfect location for an epic and memorable multi-day Enduro.
“Mountain bikers consistently rank our park among the best in the world,” says Northstar’s Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Bill Rock. “We are thrilled to take part in this series, providing us an opportunity to showcase our park to world class riders and allowing them to enjoy our unmatched views and trails.”
“Northstar was a great addition to the series last season and I’m thrilled to learn they are expanding to a two-day race for 2015,” says Jackie Swider, who took Pro Women first place at the 2014 event. “Last season’s event was a blast, ripping trails with friends in practice then cracking down to business the next day. Each of the stages offered challenges from berms, rocks, and off-camber sections to pedaling and jumps.”
Kamikaze Bike Games Enduro • Thursday-Sunday, September 24-27 • Mammoth Mountain in Mammoth Lakes
The Kamikaze Bike Games Enduro, a racer favorite for 2014, will cap off the 2015 series. With the Enduro being one aspect of a four day event featuring several types of races enjoyed by CES participants, the Kamikaze Bike Games is the perfect venue for the series finale.
Mammoth Mountain’s Senior Vice President Bill Cockroft says, “We are pleased once again to be a part of the Kamikaze Bike Games. We look forward to a huge event in 2015 after our very successful Enduro event last summer. Thank you CES for teaming up with us. We promise to crush it in September.”
Pro rider Jacob Dore—who took third overall for 2014—notes, “Mammoth really stands out from a Dad perspective—my son can’t wait until the next Kamikaze Bike Games! CES is amazing in that we can all connect on course and at the venues.”
November 2015, Shine is heading back to the exponentially growing desert mountain biking mecca, Sedona, Arizona. Partnering with Sedona Destination Adventures, this 4-Day MTB Sedona Experience is for LADIES ONLY and will feature on trail guidance with technical skills coach Lindsay Beth Currier.
“I can’t believe it took me so long to get to ‘Shredona!’ These mountains are full of magic, the locals are amazingly hospitable and more full of energy and light than any tourist-driven mountain bike destination I have ever been too for work or pleasure. I’ll definitely be back as soon as possible to shred more red dirt, explore the natural history, and of course re-charge my crystals!” – from the diary of Lindsay Beth Currier, February 2015
We had so much success and met so many amazing women at Irwin Cycles in Las Vegas, Nevada this past winter that we just can’t wait to get back for another weekend with the Irwins! We are still in the works of planning the weekend, but expect an evening social, a group ride + a technical skills clinic, all centered at Irwin Cycles in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A little about Irwin Cycles… 50% woman owned-and-operated, Irwin’s success is driven by the synergistic relationship of wife and husband, Lifan and Carl Irwin. Both owners infuse the shop with their individual energies and experiences in not only cycling, but with helping others enjoy outdoor recreation. The shop is outfitted with all of the tools needed to get your bike fixed and/or setup for the best time riding, road or mountain. A reasonable amount of clothing and accessories are on display in the showroom, and Lifan assures us they wouldn’t carry anything they would not personally recommend. Of course Irwin’s can special order almost anything you or your bike may need.
“I’ve realized I can be little bit shy or cold to those who do not know me.. And I have a really hard time trusting people I’ve just met on the road.. mostly just with my watching my dog, and the other usual stuff… When I got back from my ride and my dog didn’t want to leave the shop… I knew something was totally right here. I love this couple for what they are doing for the cycling community in their neighborhood of Vegas. I love them for how they take good care of everyone, myself included!” – from the diaries of Lindsay Beth Currier, Dec 2015
