You will learn: Mountain bike anatomy, set-up, proper braking, shifting and pedaling methods, proper body positions, how to corner smoothly, pump terrain for efficiency, and how to lift your front wheel and roll safely off a 12-24″ ledge.
You will learn: Enduro specific climbing & descending strategy. How to navigate switchbacks, berms, off camber, or flat corners. How to bunnyhop and conquer small drops, rocky sections, and small trail jumps.
You will learn:Pumptrack Anatomy, How to smoothly ride rollers and berms. Anatomy of a Dirt Jump. How to take-off and land safely.
You will learn: How to maintain balance and safely control your speed while descending steep and/or loose terrain. How to navigate corners at higher speeds. Pumping rocks and features for speed and control, and rolling, dropping and jumping larger features.
For the price of registration you get up to 3 days of shuttle service, a super cool event t-shirt, live music, fun biking events and the Saturday afternoon party.
Saturday’s party includes: Wild Turkey, beer, soft drinks and barbecue.
Shine Skills School at the Festival: Over the course of the Bootleg Canyon Gravity Fest weekend, Shine will offer 3 skills clinics for women of varying ability levels and riding styles. Riders may sign up for one or more clinic, building upon skills as they progress through the weekend. Class is over at 3pm, and students will be encouraged to utilize the remaining hour of shuttle time for riding, and “hot laps” on the shuttle to utilize new skills. All are welcome on the 3pm rides. Clinics and rides will be coached and led by IMBA ICP certified mountain bike skills coach Lindsay Beth Currier. Experience the wide open spaces, geological formations, and piercing bright stars of the lonely desert of southwestern Utah. Trip includes 2 nights in a beautiful yurt atop Gooseberry Mesa, all meals, a map, and 3 days of guided riding within view of Zion National Park (great for photos!). Riders should have strong Enduro skills to tackle rock sections and feel confident near cliff edges, and a fitness level that will allow them to enjoy a few thousand feet of climbing per day. This trip will be led by IMBA ICP coach Lindsay Beth Currier and will include on-trail skills coaching, and plenty of time in the evenings to discuss trailside repairs, or just have some fun. A selection of Devinci Demo Bikes are available for rent for this trip. Easily fly to Vegas and take the shuttle to St. George, Utah. We will pick you up and drive you the rest of the way*.
